HOMO SAPIENS AS A DEVICE
The human body is an unbelievable (mind-boggling or choose your favorite adjectives) set of technologies. We are still trying to understand or at best mimic (e.g., Biomimicry) the “technological” elements of our biology.
Regarding the core (most fundamental) biological element – namely “life force” (humans can’t even agree on what to call it) we have absolutely no clue at all (e.g., see “What is life force?”).
Regarding some equally critical elements like Consciousness, the scientific community is beginning to grapple with it by calling it “The hard problem of consciousness”.
On the other hand, Spiritualists have come up with the phenomena of “spiritual enlightenment”. In between, we have a large body of “psychic” knowledge (or theories).
Where does this leave us? What can be our lines of attack (investigative) to understand our own selves?

HUMAN IDENTITY
OK, so we happened to take birth on this planet with a fancy brain and extraordinary cognitive skills but what exactly is the human identity? This is a serious and critical debate and needs to “get” resolved. Come on, if you do not even know who you are then what the hell are you doing here?
HUMAN THINKING
From Nassim Nicholas Taleb‘s book “The Bed of Procrustes (2010)”:
Mathematicians think in proofs, lawyers in constructs, logicians in operators, dancers in movement, artists in impressions, drummers in rythms, and idiots in labels.
HUMAN BEHAVIOR
On Facilitating Learning, Enabling Behavior Change:
From “Few Rules” post by Morgan Housel:
Behavior is hard to fix. When people say they’ve learned their lesson they underestimate how much of their previous mistake was caused by emotions that will return when faced with the same circumstances.
Another rule by Housel:
People learn when they’re surprised. Not when they read the right answer, or are told they’re doing it wrong, but when their jaw hits the floor.
HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS
TRUST
I trust those who are greedy for money a thousand time more than those who are greedy for credentials. – Nassim Taleb
It is a great compliment for an honest person to be mistaken for a crook by a crook. – Nassim Taleb
I trust those who trust me and distrust those who are suspicious of others. – Nassim Taleb
